More CDart stuff

Surprised by the positive reaction of my Werewolf CD/DVD labels silliness (it was not intended to be more than silliness) I think there is the case for some more:

note: the SVGs will not look correctly with the crappy Firefox 2.0.x (it does not show blur or masks) so to get the idea use Inkscape of a Firefox 4 pre-release.

I went overboard with blur and gradients ant the images above may be very bad for print, so here are a couple of lighter versions:

  1. They look good in my Firefox...I wonder if they look even better in Inkscape ;) Only the copyright message seems to be a big too fit on the CD label (probably due to a missing font on this Windows PC I use at work).

  2. The werewolf is not supposed to get out of the disk, it should be cut with a mask and the shadow is not supposed to be solid, but blurry. Both are known limitation of FF2 and are solved in FF3.

  3. I have to say that I love your artwork for Fedora 8 so far. However, I'm a big fan of saving my ink so I prefer the other DVD label you created in your previous post.

Is there any way to get a LiveCD version and case labels with that in mind?

    Cheers,

  4. clint, this is why I provided the sources: you can take the SVG for any those design, make the background white, the text black or blue and you are set.

  6. Shadows look great in Opera 9, thanks for sharing.

  7. For the LightScribe version, the inner radius has to be 2.1cm, and the outer radius has to be 5.8cm. And I'd appreciate it as well when you get the time.

  9. Any chance of creating a Network Install version of the Werewolf CD label? The Network Install never gets much attention in the way of labels and I would love to use something other than a blank label with my sloppy scribbling on it :)

Thanks, great work by the way!

  10. Robert, this is exactly why I provided the SVG sources: open it in Inkscape, modify the text label, export and you are set! It will take a couple of minutes.

Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded Inkscape and made the changes...
