Fedora 10 themes Round 2
The second round in the process of creating a visual theme for Fedora 10 ended yesterday, those are the proposals meeting the requirement and which will pass into the third (last) round (listed in chronological order):
Gears
Neon
InvinXible
Solar
Note: you will find the names of the people behind them on the individual pages, I left them out here on purpose, this is not a personal competition but a team work.
I don't envy anyone who is going to have to make the final decision.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd be happy to see any of the concepts you've presented taken to the final stages.
You know what I wish I had. I wish I had a way to automatically rotate the default theme on boot... not jut the wallpaper, so I could get a feel for all the available art team produced themes without making any effort.
That will probably requires some major change of codes for both installers and login screen. Some videogames do these effects so why not Fedora.
ReplyDeletei like invinXible, Solar & Gears very much, but it will be very hard to select the one i like the most, i hope all the wallpapers will be added to even if they are not selected to be the default.
ReplyDeleteAll are good, but solar evolved in the best one for me. Invixible is probably very nice graphicaly, but is too presentive with the sword. (BTW the link to wiki is not valid) Neon is also nice, but at the moment too conceptional.
ReplyDeleteThat's some incredible art! It would be nice if they all could be chosen.
ReplyDeleteIf any of the above themes would be selected as the final screen I'd change it on firstboot.
ReplyDeleteThese aren't useful for a business user, nor are they generally pleasing to the eye.
perhaps a 99designs.com contest?
@Anonymous: then good thing that Fedora is not a business OS... and also good thing we have a bunch of alternate wallpapers so you can change it easily.
ReplyDeleteSolar, Invixcible and Gears are all really Good and Worthy of 1st Place. But there is really something about solar that just stands out you can actually feel the energy and vibrancy which is a core attribute of fedora its really going to add an edge to feddy (Imagine animating the filaments of the sun). I think this will make it pull through. Any way I would like to see the others included as optionals surely a theme like invixcible is (quite unique.)
